FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Trenton Talks Wraps Up Another Thrilling Summer of City of Trenton League Basketball

Trenton, NJ — Trenton Talks is proud to announce the successful close of its 2025 summer basketball season, which brought together more than 300 players across six divisions, from kindergarten through adults, and drew hundreds of fans weekly to city parks.

The season kicked off with the youngest ballers in the K–2nd grade division, where kids learned the fundamentals in a fun, high-energy environment. Their joy and competitive spirit lit up the courts, proving once again that the future of Trenton basketball is bright.

In the 3rd–5th grade league, more than 40 players competed week after week at Greg Grant Park. The games brought neighborhood kids together and created a consistent, competitive environment that carried momentum throughout the summer.

The middle school division continued its reign as the league’s strongest, with 60+ participants across six teams. Rivalries, loyalty, and packed sidelines made Wednesday nights feel like a showcase, setting the stage for the next generation of Trenton basketball talent.

At the high school level, four teams with 50+ participants battled it out in a league that grew stronger each week. As other city leagues wrapped up, Trenton Talks carved out its own space, showing there’s demand for even more teams in the future.

A major milestone this year was the launch of the JUCO division, designed to give college athletes their own platform. With six teams and recruiters in the stands, the league not only delivered high-level basketball but also inspired players to continue their academic and athletic journeys.

Finally, the Unlimited division became the heartbeat of the summer. With six teams, over 60 players, and crowds topping 300–500 people each week, the atmosphere was electric. For many, it felt like a return to the golden era of Trenton basketball—proof of what’s possible when the community comes together.

“This summer wasn’t just about games—it was about rebuilding a culture,” said Trenton Talks founder Momolu Dorley. “From our youngest players to our college athletes and beyond, the league showed how basketball can unify and inspire our city.”

Trenton Talks looks forward to building on this momentum, with plans already underway for expanded youth programming, stronger practice opportunities, and continued community engagement. “The city has witnessed the standard this league can set—yet the path forward is still unclear.”
